PCR Ladders

DNA ladders consist of a set of DNA fragments of different sizes. These DNA fragments are separated and visualized as DNA bands on agarose or SDS DNA gels. DNA ladders are used during gel electrophoresis to determine both size as well as for quantification of PCR products. The size and quantity of the PCR products can be determined by comparing the size and quantity of the DNA bands in the DNA ladder.
